Auto-filtering or conditional selection of document templates in Cost Management

If the document templates will differ based on some attributes , we need to have many document templates uploaded in the settings. For example, based on the amount of the COR (specific ranges) and the type of discipline we have different signers for change orders. This means that we will have 3-4 document templates per discipline and the list of templates the user need to select from will be very long. Since requirements for choosing the correct document template is already recorded in custom attributes we could have a conditional selection and only show the templates that matches the attributes to the user and prevent wrong templates to be selected.

Have you considered using approval workflows which can be based upon values.

If you use those, then you can eliminate the need to have different signers, have the relevant signer approve, then anyone can sign the document?

Unfortunately, approval workflow does not suffice. We need all of our CORs for example to be signed officially by DocuSign. The only way to do that is to include the right template in the document package and send to DocuSign. Depending on what is the value of the COR (3-4 different tiers) more or less users need to sign. Meaning for one type of COR (one discipline) we can have 3-4 document template to select from. We need to fool-proof the document template selection because it can very often happen that users would choose the wrong template from a list of 40-50 different templates. Why not use the same conditional setting as approval workflows to pre-select the right document templates for the users?

Simple answer is we listen to our customers to help define our roadmap and to date it's not been requested by anyone else so we've never investigated effort.

But we're always open to ideas for enhancements so thank you for the suggestion, and now we have it we can evaluate accordingly.
