Viewport rotation sensitivity

How do I adjust the rotation speed of my viewport? I like very high cursor speed, but I hate how ridiculously fast the viewport rotates. Additionally, it messes with my gaming muscle memory. Is there a way to make the mouse sensitivity lower in the viewport?

The Mouse panel lets you customize mouse behavior.

Main Menu => Customize => Customize User Interface => Mouse tab

There is no Max settings to control ALt+MMB speed,

There is a workaround, but maybe it's not very convenient for you, in case you don't like

To affect the mouse's speed everywhere, and that's to go to control panel, Mouse, and change

Globally the pointer speed of your Mouse.

I’ll just bind my mouse’s dpi shift to the alt key, that should do it.

this topic is pretty old but I'm still searching for a solution..., is there meanwhile a possibility to set this in max ?

Or maybe any config files or registry entrys where I can change it ?

My Mouse is working with 500 dpi/epdi wich is pretty low.... but in Max its just 3 cm to make 360 degree turn, thats not acceptable for me.
