UVW Map Reversed on Back Side

How do I apply an image using a UVW map without having it "bleed through" to the back side of the object.

Here is an example. I copied the box to show the back side.

Thanks,

Dave

Peace,
Dave

One method would be to use a multi-sub object material that has two materials.  Set the ID of the face to receive the image to be different than the other sides.

That worked, sort of... But I'd like to have the transparent background of the text allow the base material of the object to show through, like applying a decal

Dave

You can achieve that by adding a cutout map (opacity map) to the material with the image.  Do you know how to do that?  Can you post the file of the graphic and I can make the cutout map for you.

If you're talking of adding decals to your objects, then you can try the Composite map (not to confuse with the Composite Material). This way you can add multiple decals to your object and you get to keep the diffuse texture. Bear in mind that this may require you to either Unwrap UVW, or use UVW maps to properly use decals.

Here's a video tutorial about composite maps:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhom5CTFlRs

Instead, if you've Unwrapped your UV's, you can watch this Screencast I made for another member a few weeks ago regarding adding decals. (Don't mind the audio quality)

Here's the cutout map.   Be sure to use the same tile size and other parameters for it as you do for the diffuse map.
