PBR Viewport Shader/Environment

PBR Viewport Shader/Environment

Unfortunately, when Nitrous was introduced it effectively 'broke' the 2 best viewport shaders available - 3pointshader and Xiolul - for displaying real-time/game assets.

I would like to see a native Nitrous shader aimed squarely at UE4/Unity look-dev(similar to what Modo recently introduced) Possibly a real-time environment mode in the viewport with .HDR lighting. And whereas the above mentioned shaders were previous-gen tech(diffuse/Spec) this would obviously be built for metal/rough PBR

I realise this can be set up using ShaderFX/Stingray but I find the SFX results to be pretty terrible.

Thanks Zap and all the team for all the great work on this. It's going to make a LOT of users very happy. I've been banging the drum on this and mikkt for a long time and it's great to see it all coming together.

I'm pretty sure there was as well, however I went through a pass of merging a few similar ideas together and I think maybe the status got reset during that process.

@brentscannellI think he refers to the slow implementation of ideas with similar status. Hope that won't happen with this one.

I would also like to see viewport blending of PBR materials like if you create two or more materials using texture channel 1 you could paint a mask in channel 2 for blending the materials. This is possible in game engines like Unreal, and in Blender EEVEE, but I don't think it is currently possible in 3dsmax's viewport (correct me if I'm wrong). This would be a huge benefit for creating environments.
