Modern UI with floating panel

Modern UI with floating panel

It's time for 3ds max to get a new detachable ui panel interface, like the rest of the modern software (Adobe, realflow, NUKE)
The ability to rescale and detach viewport, panel and windows will be very usefull.

Accepted (and a lot of work is already in 3ds Max 2018) but this does not include the detachable viewport.

That ability is under review and can be tracked here:

Love the work you have done so far, however there are still Graph-editors and dialogs that can`t be docked/tabbed in 2018:

Slate Material Editor

Compact Material Editor

MCG Editor

Particle View

Select and Place options

Bone tools

UV editor

Would be really nice if i could dock/tab them too.

When implementing this, please also consider

Split Command Panel into individual dockable panels

The old Command Panel just does not make that much sense anymore in it's current form.

Thanks!

Agree with all.

UI needs to be more modern, clean, lightweight and customizable. For example, look on MODO, especially on Zen UI.

Currently 3ds Max UI feels clunky, as from '90s, even with Qt5 update.
