Hello, everyone! I've been using 3DS Max as my primary driver for 3D modeling for quite some time, and I noticed the UV Unwrapping tools feel rather outdated and barebones compared to what recent versions of Maya have to offer, which has lead to frustration several times due to some issues that I've faced regarding getting decent UVs that don't have distortion or overlapping issues by attempting to do everything manually. As of right now, for example, for automatic unwrapping, you have to bring your mesh into Maya (or even non-Autodesk tools such as Blender), generate the UVs and then make changes to the UVs in that software before exporting it as an FBX and bringing it back into Max. Either that, or use third-party plugins, which either haven't been updated in a long time, or that cost extra on top of the 3DS Max license (Which is similar to how the Unity Engine has worked regarding said functionality for a bit). Having some sort of tool that could fix UV distortions with stuff such as very short cylinders and other things of the sorts could also be useful.
To cut to the chase, the tools that are included with Max for this functionality could be a bit more beginner friendly, to allow more room to hit the ground faster before adjusting and polishing said UVs. Thanks for reading, and apologies if I sound a bit critical.
