Quad menu viewport graphics issues.

Hello!

Quad menu opens where is clicked in viewport, but on the left side of the screen/left monitor I get the viewport part behind the quad menu that was open, and it keeps stacking every time I open quad menu. It is happening on the windows/toolbars that are static.

Tried to downgrade, upgrade, uninstall, reinstall, different drivers, old ones, new ones, windows reinstalls, window updates, different accounts, one monitor, two, three, different graphics modes, run as admin, etc.,  like I have tried everything I could think of in past few days, but still no luck!

Fresh windows 11 install, 3ds max 2023, etc. This is the second time I did a format and new installs and the same thing is happening.

Chatted with support but they could not help, got opened a case but still waiting on that. Hopefully some one here has an idea what to try next?

Sharing a short video.

Thanks!

If it's happening to multiple people (as it seems to be, I think it's a good idea to submit a support ticket over it.  Could be that it's a bug and it's just now showing itself, best to get a jump on reporting it.  If you don't mind, that is.  Listing your hardware might be a good idea, like motherboard, cpu, gpu, and windows/3dsmax versions.

There was a weird issue not too long ago that was only affecting owners of gigabyte motherboards, this may fall into the same category.  Thanks for taking the time to report it if you do.

Hopefully you can post this thread in the ticket too, then they can follow the steps so far.  Maybe list motherboard model too.

To add an update to the bug, also when opening and closing layer explorer does the same thing. It is strange  because sometimes is doing it less sometimes more. Sometimes stays and sometimes disappears.

Interesting.  So you both have Asus motherboards, AMD cpus, and NVIDIA gpus.  Could be a clue for them.   I also have an amd cpu and NVIDIA gpu, but a different brand of motherboard.  (Asrock)   Note for support specialists: I do not have the problem.

I wonder if there are any bios updates for your motherboards.  If you don't know what you're doing with those, they can be dangerous but might be worth a shot.  Please note that it's just a possible thing to check, I can't officially (or unofficially) suggest that is the fix.

Hi, I'm facing the same issue that @strdr was experiencing. I have a new pc with fresh windows 11 install, pc specs:

- Asus X870E Proart

- AMD 9950x

- Geforce 3090

@strdr did you perhaps find a way to fix this? It would be greatly appreciated if anybody has some tips, I honestly don't know how at the moment.

Thanks in advance

And now a 3rd ASUS motherboard.  I think you might want to check out any available bios updates.  So far, the ASUS motherboard is what you all have in common.  For what it's worth, there was a problem with Gigabyte motherboards earlier this year and they released a BIOS fix for it, as I understand it.

I have the latest BIOS update. As I mentioned in the beginning, everything was working fine, like for years, before the windows reinstall. Since the windows is pushing its newest updates while installing, I suspect something updated withing display settings in combination with 3ds max is making this issue.

It only happens when 3ds max is on the right monitor, so it shows the bug on the left. If 3ds max is on the left monitor it doesn't show it on the right. It's monitor refreshing problem that happens on the wrong monitor. Probably when using the quad menu 3ds max is asking windows on which monitor it is and after the last windows update it gets wrong/can't get an answer so by default is deciding that is on the left monitor so there refreshing happens - showing bits from the viewport with the size and the position of the quad menu.
