Can't apply materials to a .dwg from 3ds MAX in Revit 2018

So I am using Revit for a project and found some of my furniture online.  It was only available in 3ds MAX format, so I downloaded the trial so that I could convert the drawings to .dwg to get them into Revit.  Once in Revit, I can only apply materials to certain parts of the chairs.  Any advice/ideas?

I've attached pictures of what I'm dealing with.  The seat and legs (blue) are taking materials, but the back/arms (green) are not.
