Revit Default Manager

A possible add for a Revit Default Manager under the Manage Ribbon tab to gain control of the common Revit Default settings.

Such as:

Current Phase for newly created Views/Schedules

Titleblock family

Move the tag defaults here

Viewports that get dragged on a sheet

Link Insert defaults (Automatic - Origin to Origin)

etc....

If anyone can expand this list of default controls, please share...

How about adding stuff like:

• creating Walls by Height instead of Depth
• whether Mirror resets to Copy every time, or remembers your previous setting
• keeping Constrain OFF instead of randomly getting re-checked

A paradigm for this exists  for Tags - where you can choose default tag per category.

I would like to be able to change the text that appears in the "scale" label when a sheet has different scales on it  (now this is hard coded "As indicated" but our titleblocks use all caps...)

and an "ignore legend scales" switch so putting legends on a sheet with a plan would still show the plan's scale

both of these get remembered within the Revit session (like the Wall/Column by Height/Depth setting), but it would be nice to not have to think about it the first time:

• have Leader unchecked by default (for tags)
• be able to set leader anchor points (for text) - ex: Leader at Top Right

These seem like suggestions for improvements for the revit.ini file and a better process for sharing across an organisation those settings.

For default view title, it is the one with the lowest element ID, easiest way to control it is figure out which one is the default and rename then edit it to be the one you want in your company template.
