Fire Rating for doors

Fire Rating for doors

Fire Rating for doors should not be a Built-in Type Parameter. Our firm uses a Shared Instance Parameter. This minimizes the number of types of doors in the project and allows for more flexibility. Only problem now is we have two Fire Ratings which confuses users of which value to enter. Please allow more flexibility.

I don't mind all that much that it's a Built In parameter.

My problem with the Fire Rating is that it's a Type parameter.

Many, many of the differences in Fire Rating are simply the way the door is constructed or gasketed.

These differences are in the spec or in the HArdware Group, but there's no need to make another Revit Door Type where the ONLY difference is the Fire rating.

Fire Rating should be an Instance

@dplumb_BWBR Totally agree. Built-in is fine, but Instance parameter is needed for the Door Rating. It would be good though with all Built-In parameters to allow for flexibility, keep them, but being able to adjust Instance or Type, even renaming would really help with customization for organizational needs.
