As the title says...this would speed up shadow baking by a lot and free precious CPU ressources.

I've had difficulty selecting nodes because a hidden light is in front of the object I want to select. This issue also prevents me from being able to use a touch sensor on the nodes with a light between it and the camera. My workaround has been to group my lights and turn that group on and off as I'm working, and turning on the Headlight temporarily, to see what I'm doing. I haven't noticed this until working with products smaller than a vehicle and using area lights.

It would be nice to have the option to change the name of Mirrored Cloned or Duplicated geometry. For example- Duplicate a door from driver side to passenger side. The passenger door is named "driver door" (how I usually name the parts on each side, to differentiate). How about a pop-up that lets you exchange one word for another? This would be useful down the road, when you are working with multiple animation Curves and Blocks > into Variants and Clips and Touchsensors... (Yes, you can rename, but often you have to work at lightning speed and there's no time for being as organized as one might want.)

I'd love to be able to drag a clip to a Touch Sensor. It's nice that you can Duplicate Flipped in Clips- this way you only need to set up animation keyframes once (for example- a door opening, then you don't need to set up the reverse keys to close the door). My workaround is to duplicate a Block in the Curve Editor, copy, paste and delete keys. It gets very messy when you have dozens of these "double block" and figuring out which controls what and getting the right clips into a Variant, since you can only play one at a time. Clips are nice because you get what you see- also much easier for adjustments. I just finished an animation with multiple moving hatch spring parts on both sides and thought this would be helpful. I duplicate-mirrored driver to passenger side and so parts were named the same and difficult to keep track of.

Working with big animation scenes (multiple joints, multiple objects, multiple everything) produces an enormous and exponential amount of blocks, selecting them is a nightmare because they share the same incremental suffix (_block1, _block2 etc.) the grouping function is not helping as every block stays under the source node (you can't drag select) So it would be great if every time multiple object (or maybe single also?) are selected you could choose a custom suffix for your blocks, to greatly accelerate the animation>clip workflow

Allow VRED to export scenes with substance materials to be viewed in a web browser. This could be achieved using the shared view functionality (currently doesn't support all VRED materials) or create a new export tool. Usually we need to get stakeholders to review several models with proper materials and we need a tool such as Shared Views inside Autodesk Viewer to 1) store all the models and 2) allow on demand viewing and commenting of this data. VRED Go is not a feasible option and there are limitations : 60 days review period, need to be stored and viewed in disk, large file format

It would be useful to be able to import the Rhino layer tree, like you can do now with Alias files. We spend a lot of time having to rebuild the layer tree at the moment because imports from Rhino files just smoosh all the layers into one long list.

I mostly work in Autodesk Fusion 360. And Files are saved in f3d Format.... I heard VRED Gives really good Looking Renders as the Output.' But for me, I have to convert it to Autocad or igs format in order to view my file and render it in VRED.... This takes time to convert the files..... So, my idea is to add f3d file as an Accepted file type for VRED.

The Touchsensor window does not fit the general VRED UI and should be updated. It should be Touchsensor Editor. - Needs search function - Needs groups - Needs to remember if items were expanded or not (all sensors currently expand on their own) The window just needs to be updated with features that other windows like the Material Editor already have. Because there are no groups and everything expands all the time the window gets very hard to use very quickly if there are a lot of touchsensors.

The ICV button should be in the Camera Editor window where every other camera/view related item is. The current location, right next to where the user would resize the main window, is awkward and easily pressed by accident by a less experienced user. Thanks.

It would be great to be able to use instances of an animation clip within other clips. At the moment I can copy clips and nest them within other clips, but I don't know of an option to instance them.

The webstreaming is great! It would be very useful though, if it was possible to hide certain variant set groups from appearing in the web interface. The variant set groups already have a checkbox for showing/hiding in the VR-menu, would be great if sth. similar existed for the webinterface, too. Also, it would be great if the variants within each of those groups sorted alphabetically instead of depending on date of creation. (same as in the rendertab, it causes a lot of searching)

There should be an easy way to change a Sceneplate Variant via python. Any Geometry or Material Variant can be changed like this: selectNodeVariant(name, state) selectMaterialVariant(name, state) There is a simple line of code but it goes by index numbers and if the order or amount of plates in the Sceneplate Editor changes this will lead to unwanted results - so I never wanting to use it: vrdSwitchNode(vrSceneplateService.getRootNode().getChild(0)).setChoice(1) Currently Sceneplates require multiple lines of code if the user wants to access a specific plate by name. There should be a simple command like this: selectSceneplateVariant(name, state) Thank you.

It will be good to have a solid cut when using clipplanes. or, like it is possible in keyshot, for example, use other geometry as a cut object in conjunction with a special cutaway material. Working with mechanical stuff now I have to really cut the model with Inventor. best Chris

Vred should have F3D file types Supported too.... If I am working in Fusion, and u save the file in F3D, I can't render it in Vred... I have to convert it into some other supported file type which consumes my time......

Actually if you rename a Vsets fresh created and press "enter" the vset is deselected (in my opinion it behaves so only since 2017-2018, before it was different, but i can be wrong) The vset, instead, has to remain selected or every time it has to be selected twice Thanks

Hi, it will be very useful the chance to call variantset inside other varianset. If i have , for example, to do the same thing on many variantset, i could create a base variantset and then call it from the others. Now i can do it with script in variantsets, but if i have the Design Version, i can't. Best Chris

Hi, working with curves and many object animated the Library panel could be improved: Add the possibility to put jolly char in the search box. Something like windows ? or * or Sql % or _. Retain the "open/close" state also for groups (after closing - reopening the curve panel). I create Groups for animations when i have many animation. It occurs especially when importing animated Fbx (peoples, chain animations...) Best Chris

Animating a camera via animated viewpoints or via curves is an easy job. To create a more realistic movement it should be good to add some random shake in the camera path. To simulate a realistic camera held by someone. Something like a modifier in 3dsMax. Best Chris
