Limiting CPU usage in Vred

Hello,

Is it possible to limit the CPU usage in Vred/Windows?

When I Bake light  and shadows or run CPU Raytracing all the CPU cores are engaged (100%). This increases the cpu temperature and limits other apps/windows, accordingly they donot work smoothly.

How can I limit the CPU usage by an specific app (here Vred), for exmaple to 80% rather than 100%?

(Of courese, amazing GPU rendering removes most of the load from the CPU during the Raytracing, but I am excluding the GPU rayteacing in my case).

My CPU is Core i9 9900K

Thank you very much in advance.

Sincerely yours,

S. Ruhollah Kashfi

The easiest way to limit it would to just limit the cores the application may use in the windows task manager. Just find the VREDPro.exe process under Details and set the affinity to the CPU Cores you want to let VRED use.
