Thumbnails for Custom Tool Pallets - Issues

I have been tasked with making a custom tool pallet for our CAD Monkeys (I say affectionately). I have a custom linetype that looks like this image...

I made a block out of the line, and set the properties to explode when inserted into the drawing. The Toolpallet image looks like this...

Does anyone see the issue with this? What can I do to make the thumbnail that AutoCAD automatically produces for the tool pallet look like the actual geometry I created? Thanks for all your help and tips in these matters.

This next comment is only for Autodesk, not for anyone that is trying to help me here on this forum...

HEY AUTODESK!! This is TERRIBLE!!!!!  This is awful, please we need more control over the way these thumbnails look (or at least make it more intuitive).  I have been searching the Autodesk forums, youtube videos, and tutorials online, and there is no or extremely little documentation that I can find to help with this issue.

I use custom Pop menus much easier to make and control images etc For this task like select a linetype.

We had the line types as just that in the corner of our 1st layout, we work in world co-ords big numbers so would bring in plan then cut the linetypes out of the layout and paste next to plan so can just select.

For a client recently just get extmax and insert a dwg with user stuff just to top right. Had some linetypes and legends etc.
