Hello Autodesk Forum members,

I would like to create an tab and panel. It should consist blocks as a dropdown. My company is an engineering company where we tend to use the PID symbols of our template. How can I create drop down for the blocks? I have said the design centre option to the company but they are not satisfied with that. I have attached a sample drawings to this forum. Please help how to create such useful panel for the company.

The Design Center is a bad suggestion.

So it's your idea. Too complicated, badly maintainable.

My preferred option would be the INSERT palette (acad 2020+). No programming needed, simple to use, simple to maintain. With just a few clicks I can have all your block on the screen. It's pretty fast, it remembers the library files..

Alternatively, you can use the Tool Palette (ctrl+3). Does not offer the same user comfort, but still good.

Old fashioned menu option, uses a text file mnu to make.

or for ribbon and mnu uses a dcl to display blocks and choose,

Both of these require you to make slides of your blocks but that can be automated have made like a 100 in one go.
