re-pathing xrefs

Hi. I've got a problem. I've received 1000s cad dwgs all with multiple incorrect xrefs. They're all full path and need to be relative or re-pathed so that they can read off our server.  I'd use reference manager if it was just a few but I've got 1000s to change! I used to do AutoLISP a long time ago and I remember that it may hold the key to a solution. Any ideas anyone?

I'll have a look at that. Thanks Johnathan. It was so long since I did autolisp that its all sand-script to me. I'm wondering if there are companies that can offer a solution.

You can also use the built in reference manager to change paths.
