I have an Excel schedule (attached) of approximately 100 stone paviours (variously-sized from 200mm x 300mm up to 770mm x 780mm, and totalling ca. 25m²) which I need to arrange on a rectangular terrace measuring 3.2m x 6.6m (21m²).
The paving should be in bands across the length of the terrace, so either 5 bands at roughly 533mm each or 4 bands at roughly 800mm each, but bands of differing dimensions are acceptable. I'm also attaching a sketch showing an indicative 4-band arrangement, for reference only.
A 'band' can be one or two pieces tall, by however many pieces wide.
How can I use CAD to ease the pain of working out a satisfactory arrangement(s), including those that minimise the amount of cutting?
