Partial Menus - Profiles

AutoCAD 2014....

Are Partial Menu settings (menus that are loaded)...transfer over, or are they saved, in PROFILES?

Setting up company deployments.....Loading exported PROFILE with /p switch.
Everything comes across to the new users setup...except the Custom Menus...which were loaded as Partial Menu's

I know it used to work...because this same method...is how we deployed....way back...I ithink using AutoCAD 2004...

Maybe something has changed.

If you run an enterprise .cuix file along with a User .cuix file, I would attach them to the Enterprise. That's what I have done in the past. That way if your support files are on the server and you modify them, the next time the User opens AutoCAD, the changes will be current. Same goes if you add a new partial menu, it should show up if it's a part of the workspace.

The below link should provide some information on enterprise cuix files if you aren't familiar, apologies if you are.

Yes. Open your cui for your workspace and you should see what it contains.

Are the customizations loaded. Unless they are located on the server, a profile will not pull it up. What does menuload tells you. Does it show all the partial menus loaded?

Yes...the Partial Menus are loaded.....I see them on the screen. I see the Toolbars.....I export the PROFILE (.arg) out to disk.

I launch AutoCAD on another Machine with the /p switch...pointing to that newly created Prolife (.arg) file which I copied to the new machine

AutoCAD opens up....all settings come across.....but the Menu are not loaded.

Where are your support files pulling from? Is it possible that the new machine doesn't have the drive mapped for the support file location of the menus?

OK. Just launch cui (command cui) and then select the relevant workspace and right-click for customize workspace; expand partial customization files. Verify the check boxes with relevant menus are selected. Apply. OK.

All the Support File Paths are local to each machine....and they are there...that is part of the "install/deployment"....The Profile points AutoCAD to those directories....

I think the answer to my initial question is this.....PROFILES do not save Partial Menu settings....

Here is what we are doing...

1. Setup AutoCAD with all our Sysvars, Support File search Paths, menu loaded...etc...

2. Generate a PROFILE from that setup an save it to disk...export it.... (mysetup.arg)
3. Copy all our application files, lsp, mnu, etc.....directories, etc...to each machine

4. Setup that Machines AutoCAD Shortcut....to launch AutoCAD with the /p switch calling our PROFILE.....(mysetup.arg)

When the user launches AutoCAD....ALL of our application specific settings come across....Sysvars, Search paths, etc......EXCEPT the Partial Menus....
