Using 2002.

Why would a paperspace viewport block the visibility of mtext in paperspace?

It is set up to plot to Cute_PDF, if that matters.

I have never seen this before.

MTextobject in modelspace, ok:

Is it visible in Layout, but not in PDF/Paper?

Same problem with all Objects on this Layer? => Check the PLOT property of this layer (not a Hint for you, just for other readers in the future)

All Objects not visible in this viewport? Check the new (LOL) VP FREEZE property of this viewport  (not a Hint for you, just for other readers in the future)

ONLY (this) MText object?

Is it near to the viewport boundary located?

One eye to the STYLE, Font and special characters!

I saw that in the past. The Text or MText was near a corner of the viewport.

You could see it in Layout, but the content switched or disappear by plotting (wow).

I don't remember about the issue exactly, but it was a Font and perhaps Content problem.

Tell me if i should start my research.

No... both mtext and viewport are in paperspace.
All layers are plottable.
No, the mtext is not color 255.
The viewport's HidePlot is turned off.
I used DRAWORDER to bring the mtext to the front.
I have audited (2 found but no difference even after regenall)

Ahah! I saved, closed, and reopened the dwg.
All is well.
My guess is that the audit fixed things, but it just wasn't showing up yet.
It also may have had to do with this laptop being 10+ years old.
Meanwhile, thanks so much five chipping in!

@john.uhden ,

Sometimes when objects seem to 'disappear' from my layout, a simple REGEN brings them back. Never sure where they go or why, but give that a try next time. Might just fix your issue.

Best,

Oops.  Not so fast.  It's back again.

I was able to find and make a copy of the mtext and delete the original, but the new one gets hidden just the same.  And audit reports no errors.

I'll try saving and reopening again.  <click, click, click>

Okay, it's showing up, but for how long I don't know.

Well all the mtext in paperspace was again hidden by the viewport, but it plotted just fine, thank goodness.

I think I need a new computer and fresh installation.
