Is there a lisp file to calculate area & place text at ~center of polyline?

I'm looking for a lisp routine or command that will calculate area of a closed polyline and place text with the area value at the center of the polyline.  I need to do a lot of area calcs for a lot of small rooms?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Thank you

Brian

You're right -- I was thinking only LWPolylines, not the "heavy" ones.  But the possibility of the 128 bit applies to either variety.

Good day, excuse me, how can you make this PLAREA list not only select an object, but also add the option to select an object or several objects at the same time, with that you can put the area in several lots with a single selection. I await your response on how to do it. thank you so much

Hi

Your lisp routine works perfectly and saves a lot of work.

Thanks for sharing.

@JTBWorld Super awesome.  I’ve needed your AreaText.lsp  for years.

Curious,

  1. could this be modified to product MTEXT instead of Text?
  2. Automatically include a background mask
  3. Use Current Text Style and the style size
  4. Add multiple area objects

And, could this modified routine also be transformed to do the same thing with the total length of selection of multiple lines, polylines, arcs, and/or splines (minimal requirement of multiple polylines)?

Thank you!

@mikeshick Yes it could be done but it might be for a fee.

Is the 4, the number of sides of the area?

It can be done but I don't have time to do it for free right now. If interested to pay for it contact me directly.
