Hatch Pattern Random

Hi,

 I trying to find a script that allows me apply a certain amount of colours to a certain amount of rectangles that form a staggered pattern. I have found one that applies the colours randomly, but I would like to add conditions, such as "same colours can not touch each other".  Because I don't know how to make the script, I wonder if anyone came across the same problem and how did you solve it.

This does not appear to be about Hatch Patterns.  Is your description missing something?

In any case, can you post the code that applies colors randomly?
