Different behavior driving forward and back

Again, brand new to the software... I have played around with placing and turning TT units with AutoDrive, but am now working with my first passenger vehicle.

If I attempt to place a tracking points when moving forward, I cannot place them "out of range" where I would normally get the red connecting line indicating my error. Instead, the wheels eventually turn to 100% as I move forward and max out there and I can't force an error if I wanted to. The green envelope just extends wherever it can. The vehicle does appear to be constrained correctly.

Backing up, however, behaves like it did when I worked (forwards) with the TT unit - if I cut it too sharply, I get the 'red line' error and lose the envelope. This behavior makes it difficult to place tracking points going backwards with a 100% steer. Once you get to 101%, you lose the envelope, so you have to be very careful.

Why don't I get the red line going forward, or more importantly, can I set my reverse movement to behave like the forward where it the turning simply maxes at 100%?

Thanks,

NHAnimator
