Hi,

I have the same problem as descibed in this post:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/visual-basic-customization/read-the-drawing-units/m-p/6639687#M99572

I was wondering what sysvar controls the drawing units of a drawing (note this is not the same as insunits or units).

After that thread, I talked on the phone to one of the Map 3D techs. I should have posted back to that thread but apparently I forgot to. I can't remember all of the details now, but basically, that is a Map3D command and the info isn't stored in any system variables. I'm not sure how they store it though. I was unable to find any dictionaries associated with that info.

I have never used map3d as far as I know so I'm a bit oblivious to how it differs from Civil 3d. I know they were different products back in the day, but one would think the "kinks" would have been ironed out by now... if it isn't a sysvar what else could it be? Anyway I'm not actively pursuing a solution to this anymore. Hopefully someone will post an solution some day 😃

Civil 3D is built on top of Map 3D, so technically you have Map 3D. All the Map 3D dll's load when you start Civil 3D. If you've ever attached to an external db and mapped features or created a dwg with a state plane coordinate system, then you used Map 3D.
