Acad 2000-2006 transformation matrix

Does anyone know where I can find a white paper or other detailed discussion
of the transformation matrix?
I would like to be able to use it instead of the Move, Rotate, Rotate3D and
ScaleEntity methods.
What I mainly need is the math behind each of the 16 elements of the matrix
and also how to verify that the matrix is valid.

Attached are some sample from the old CadVault website.
Randall Rath had a good series of white papers on using
transformatiom matricies but I can not find them.

Maybe another former CadVault user still has them
