Vault Thin Client ECO Adjust cell size options: alt text Descriptions too small & too fast

Vault Thin Client ECO Adjust cell size options: alt text Descriptions too small & too fast

Improvement: Allow users to stretch out cells on table, or set cells to auto adjust size based on contents... also increase pop up text time-out.

Reason: Because no one in my shop can read this important information here.

More info:

Vault Thin Client 2022 for Change Orders (ECO), if you have a long description, you will see the text will not be visible beyond a certain point even if you have a big screen.  If you hover over the text, the description will float for a split second and vanish. Even if you try the print button, the info is still hidden, so the tool is just broken as it stands.

(I reported this directly to Autodesk but don't see that is was ever logged.)

PS (Workaround): My Autodesk vendor helped us fix it at one point by going into the javascript and finding the table cell and expanding it (took them a looong time). It was in the 'index.js' file... Then later Vault server received an update and Thin Client stopped working all together with a white blank screen & no log in options. We had to remove the changes they did & replace the file with the new file to get it to work again with a uninstall and reinstall. Now we can't edit the javascript again b/c we can't remember how we did it and the person that did it moved on.

Autodesk team: Please fix this. This shouldn't be stuff that requires this much in-depth modification. This is unusable for the customer.

Hello, I am currently using Vault Professional 2024.2, and I am not seeing this change.

My Thin Client description field is still not showing the full description.

Vault Client (Figure 1)

Text is scrollable and easy to read

william_shaner_0-1730289423942.png

Thin Client (Figure 2)

Can only see a portion of the description

william_shaner_1-1730289475087.png

Thin Client (Figure 3)

When hovering over the field, the entire description is not scrollable or viewable.  Thin Client Users are unable to see the full description.

If this was implemented, how do I fix this on my end?

Thank you,

Bill

Max string length for this field is 4000. Is your text in that limit? If possible can you please share the text?

Hi Senthil,

Below is the full text from Vault Client.  Can the limit be increased?  Is there a way for me to edit that?

I copied this into Word and it says my characters (with spaces) is 2200.

As part of the P650 Dual Suction NPD project, the existing R1200 and R2000 control panel solutions will require modification to accommodate the new concept. As defined within the P650 Feasibility Analysis, there are two potential scenarios for controlling the dual suction compressor. These defined scenarios can be found within section 6.10 of the Feasibility Analysis attached to the ECR.

Regardless of the scenario selected, an ECR will be required to complete the required design modifications. To maintain our standard offering with the R2000 and R1200, the following items will need to be considered during the course of the ECR:

Panel Outline Drawing:
Add an additional 4-20 mA analog output module to account for the additional inlet guide vane and potential second unloading valve (If a second unloading valve isn’t required, considerations should be made to use a signal duplicator for the additional inlet guide vane).
Update the panel part number matrix to include the dual suction control package.

Panel Wiring Schematic:
Add connections and wiring for additional inlet control.
Add connections and wiring for inlet guide vane position feedback (if required).
Add connections and wiring for additional unloading valve control (if required).
Add connections and wiring for the second DPT transmitter (if required).
Add connections and wiring for two FDPT transmitters (fi required).
Add connections for all additional instrumentation per the P&ID diagrams.

Application Code:
Synchronous and simultaneous control of both inlets, with considerations to module the two inlets separately. Considerations for separate modulation of the two guide vanes, would only be when the compressor is in the shutdown state or during commissioning activities (surge testing).
An additional PID loop to control the 2nd unloading valve (if required).
Programming for monitoring of the inlet position feedback signals (if required).
Consideration for use with our standard control modes of Base, Suction Throttle, Auto-Dual, Pressure Band Optimization (PBO), Ambient Compensation Control (ACC) and Integrated Compressor Control (ICC).
Flow control programming (calculated based upon FDPT) (if required).

Thank you

@william_shaner Thanks Bill for the Text. I do see the issue in 2024. I am reporting this to the Dev Team

However the good news is I am NOT seeing the issue in 2025. You can it from this image.

Senthil,

Is this field scrollable in 2025.1?  I ask this because I am not seeing the top portion (shown below) of the text.

Would the Dev Team be able to release a patch or dot release to implement this for 2024?
