In the Vault 2021 Lifecycle definitions, the control tab has a new checkbox "Include existing file versions" that when checked, applies the controlled versions to purge or not purge retroactive to previous versions. The functionality of this new feature is great, the implementation is not.
The checkbox is not sticky. The next time you view the dialog, the checkbox is unchecked. I understand the implementation logic that once you click it, it's applied.
You have no idea which lifecycle states you already applied this to since it doesn't keep track of the status of this option.
I would propose changing this to a checkbox that you check, once it applies the settings it turns into a grayed out checked checkbox to retain the last setting. Once you change any settings on that tab, it unchecks unless you check it again.
Another option would be a simple button to apply where it doesn't give you the illusion it should be retaining the setting.
