When working with Autodesk Thin Client visualisations, we are missing the ability to select a whole assembly directly in the model view, as is possible in Inventor.
Currently only individual parts can be selected. To act on the parent assembly, we have to navigate manually up the model tree to find it, which is slow and error-prone on large models.
Proposed solution: Allow selection scope to be changed in the model view — for example a modifier key, right-click option ("Select parent assembly"), or a toggle that switches between part-level and assembly-level selection. Ideally repeated use would step up the hierarchy level by level, as in Inventor.
