Hi, thanks for posting the idea. What problem are you trying to solve with this request? Once the files are opened in Inventor, the properties are then synchronized.
When changing the lifecycle to the WIP state from the Released state, the only properties that would change would be the Revision and the State. These properties are updated the next time the files are opened on disc. If Vault did as requested, you will get a new version of the file in Vault that only has these changes. Image you have 100 files in this change, Vault would now create 100 new files in Vault that only have a property change. Then when you modify the files you will have another 100 files with the design changes. Now you have the first 100 files taking up unnecessary space in the file store.
Currently when you edit a property directly on a file, Vault will edit the property in Vault but will not update the file until it is opened in the CAD application or you force a synchronize property in the Actions menu. This was change a few releases back so that administrators had better control of file store space by not creating unnecessary file version in the file store for changes that would get set the next time the file was opened in the CAD application.
We feel that this request would take Vault backwards by creating unnecessary files in the file store which could take up a lot of hard drive space.
We have end used, that have random problems with AutoCAD and Inventor, where the application not prompt for 'Syncronice Properties' when thay open from local drive or from vault.
They are therefore confused that they manually must sync properties after change state and opening the document.
That's why it could be an option they manually select it at Change State window.
