Even some advanced users I train on how to use Vault fail to grasp the idea that a CHECK OUT is simply a reservation, with no content data being transferred from server to client. CHECK OUT is NEVER the opposite of CHECK IN!
Therefore, I propose that we scrap the terms CHECK OUT and CHECK IN, and use instead RESERVE and UPLOAD. Also, whenever acquiring content via a GET operation, that should also be called "DOWNLOAD", for clarity.
I know this might seem too revolutionary, but if so much work is already being done to call things the right way and correct the UI/UX for Autodesk users, why not improve on the most fundamental and ubiquitous terms used for Vault?

Lets end the confusion, because even internally/in code I believe Autodesk might refer to Check Outs as "Reservations", and we even have the following command for admins (usually) to remove a Check Out over a file:
