Progress bar on the Server tasks dialog for the Vault Server console

Hi,

In my opinion it would be very helpful to have a progress bar for the Server Tasks dialog on the"Autodesk Vault Server Console" for Administrators, to see in which state the server tasks are, like we have it since many vault versions for example for migration of vaults or to create vaults.

If an idea like that already exists, please merge it together.

Many thanks!

Thank you for posting this idea. Can you tell me how often you check the server tasks statuses and why you are checking them?

Hi @ihayesjr ,

sure I'll tell you the need of the function.

Many of our customers asked us about that function, for example the new property indication when I'm right of the name can need many many hours depending of the filestore size and database size. So the administrator has the to wait until the last colleague of the egineering or others departments too, to can perform actions on the ADMS (Autodesk Data Management Console), and he don't no how long it will take to finish, for example machine/Vault backups are created on the same day. Yesterday, for example I had to stop the daily machine backup until the server tasks are finish. So in order of the specific server task it would be fine, if have a rough time frame to know, when we can take other tasks on the ADMS, for example backups, or cleanups.

I hope this brings a little more light in the cause, why I would like to have the function implemented in a future release of Vault.

Many thanks.

@mschindler-mum , thank you for the clarification. However, you do not need to wait for a Vault server task to complete to perform an ADMS backup. You should continue to perform your backups on your regular schedule. The task that was running during the backup will restart and pickup where it left off at after the backup is complete.
