Modify properties and modify file as separate permissions.

We have use cases, where it would be helpful to modify the properties and sync properties, but not allow updating the file for a client. I.e. allow a Check out, but do not accept a new byte array on check in. This includes, file moves, file renames, editing the name of the person signing of the work that is stored in a property.

Thank you for posting the idea. However, this is considered a new version of the file and has to be written into the file.

Hi Irvin, I understand the properties have to be written into the file, and the file properties would need to be synchronised.

Can the server copy the bytes it all ready has and allow new properties /names/directories to be checked in, and the re-call a sync props. And this wrapped in a permission, that does not allow new bytes to be pushed to the server.

We have a lot of use cases for this.

Editing properties such as the name of the person who checked/approved a drawing

moving or renaming files, without restarting the life cycle.
