Inventor VaulAddin

Inventor VaulAddin

If a component is installed within an assembly and this component is defective for whatever reason, it can happen that the checkout and checkin are grayed out/deactivated for the component in the Vault Addin. As a result, the above buttons are also grayed out/deactivated in the assembly. Instead, a checkin/checkout should be possible in the assembly + a note in the dialog that component X is not available or needs to be repaired.

Thank you for posting the idea. What do you mean by a component is "defective?"

@ihayesjr We had this error in the part

this caused the disabled buttons in the vault addin in the part and in the assembly

So you want Vault to check in an assembly with a bad component?

@ihayesjrNo, I can understand that the buttons are switched off on the part. But at the assembly with e.g. 300 parts, check-out should not simply be prohibited. Instead, check-in and check-out should be possible, with a message Part X must be handled.

Check-out is disabled because if you edit the assembly, you have to have it checked out already. Possibly along with the component if it is not new.

Check-in, on the other hand, is working correctly. You have an assembly using a broken sub-component. We can't check in the assembly if the component is not working correctly.
