Ignore Missing X-Ref and Reference files

We are on the cusp of installing Vault Pro to our company and the major hurdle for us is the inability to have Vault be flexible regarding reference files.  Isn't there a happy compromise here?  Our issue is we get data from clients that we do not own and cannot remove missing reference files in. We simply reference these files to our project data.  Vault will not let us bring these files in through the application interface and manage the reference files that are found on the main file because the children references are missing.  It seems that vault should handle this the same as AutoCAD.  If the file is missing, give me an option to resolve it or ignore it and move on.  For us this is a major hurdle and may actually prevent us from using Vault at all.  (sorry about the reference vs. X-ref terminology, I use them interchangeably due to also supporting microstation).

Hi

We get files from a lot of sources, DWG with missing xref. it's common to find in a dwg a lot of

missing xrefs. We have the need to check them in but can't do that because of the missing files.

There is no need for Vault to check this, the engineers will fix the dwg later in the process or even not at all because they need the reminder that something was missing in the original package.

Also item creation in Vault is not based on this missing files so why enforce something that downstream does nothing?

Please vote to allow check in with missing Xref from Autocad.

Thanks

Dan

Hello

Is this idea dead in the water?

I think many people need this feature, it exist in other products and it makes sense to adopt business wise

from Autodesk side.

Thanks
