Export and Import User settings and Views

We're getting ready to migrate to 2018 from 2016. Per our reseller there is no way to migrate individual user settings. Would be a nice improvement if my users could export and then import their individual settings after migration like they can in Inventor i.e. Tools - Customize - Export/Import. This improvement would also save me, admin, a lot of time in helping users get back on their feet.

Correct me if I am wrong because my experience is limited to the 2018 and 2019 versions of the vault.

There is an autodesk folder in %appdata%. In there are several xml files that contain those information. They should be able to copy the old ones and paste them into the designated place for the new version.

I tried this with the 2016 to 2018 transfer and it did not work. Besides, the last thing I want is 35 folks attempting to cut and paste system files.

Ok sorry to hear that. Regarding your worries with the cut and paste: Just create a simple batch that does that for you and you are good to go.

Still not implemented. Inventor has had this option for years now, so why not impletent this into the Vault client software?

Agreed. It would be a very nice quality of life to be able to export my custom enabled columns and import them whenever I upgrade to a new version of Vault, instead of having to have both versions open side-by-side and manually customize the column fields.
