The Named User licensing "knows" what license type is assigned to the users. The user usually installed exactly the client type on the computer. I am seeing an increasing demand of customers asking to login into Vault from another machine, e.g., presenting in a meeting room using the room's hardware. This uses case (#1) requires having a Vault Pro client available on the meeting room's computer if I have this client type assigned to my user account. In the next meeting, a colleague having an Office license assigned needs to login from the same meeting room's computer. The use case (#2) requires having a Vault Office Client available for this user. To support both use cases #1 and #2 a side-by-side installation of Vault Pro and Vault Office is required - but not supported as of today.
