Custom numbering sequence for auto-generated field

Currently in vault we can only use decimal numbers for auto-generated sequences. Will it be possible that we use customzied sequences to generate new numbers? For example, use hex numbers:

 

    0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,a,b,c,d,e,f

 

so we can use hex number as our item number or file name, shorter and more capacity, for example:

 

    1a34b.ipt

 

or even more, we can use base 36 number, the sequence is:

 

    0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,a,b ... x,y,z

 

so we can have 36^5 differenct item numbers for a 5-digit sequence, even shorter and more capacity. And I believe the base 36 number system has already been used in practice somewhere, and it will be used more.

I really like this idea, it would cut down on the length of filenames substantially, while providing nearly endless options.
