Search and add can be achieved partially in Vault Professional 2016. New copy design is integrated to Vault. One way to search and add is to use the Advanced search feature in Vault. Right click the one or more files in the search results and select copy design. New copy design dialog will appear with the selected files populated in it. User can add more files to this copy design session using "Add Files" in the same dialog. However, Copy Design is a modal dialog and user can't add more files to this copy design session with Advance search again.
This search functionality is also missing within the replace-command-dialog in copy-design. Replacing components within copy design would be much easier if you don't have to iterate through the folder structure to pick the new component each time.
This is implemented in Vault 2022.1 update. Along with Copy Design dialog, Advanced Tab is also added into Attachments, Replace, Rename, Purge and Plot Manager dialogs too.
