Backup Verzeichnis bei Updatepatch vom Vault

Wir möchten anregen, das bei einem Vault Patch bestehende Konfigurationsdateien in ein Sicherungsverzeichnis z.B. \YYYY-MM-DD_SIC erzeugt wird und die die Konfigurationsdateien die bereits vorhanden sind in das Sicherungsverzeichnis kopiert werden.

Aktuell geht es um Konfigurationsdateien in folgenden Verzeichnissen:

Die folgenden Dateien werden aktuell gnadenlos überschrieben!

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Vault 2020\Extensions\DataStandard\de-DE\PropertyTranslations.xml
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Vault 2020\Extensions\DataStandard\de-DE\UIStrings.xml

Bei Anpassungen in diesen Dateien, müssen diese vor der Patch-Installation manuell gesichert werden!!!

Are you not copying these files into the custom locations and editing them at that location?

are files at Autodesk Standard Environment.

We must change the file at Propertie Translation to Customer used Properties and Dialog Surface.

If Autodesk Patch replace the files with a new file and we replace it from a custom Location then we are not conform at Patchlevel.

We know that we must post-processing the configuration files - that's nort the Problem - but it's much more easier when we see what have change the the patch.

COMPASS / PSP would have a good service for thease situations in the past.

Maybe we can keep the good things safe for the future?

Actually we had the same complaints by the users when we applied Vault 2020.3 update. Custom Vault settings were overwritten (menus, grid etc.).
