Is it still the case that you need VS 2015 for it?

Are there other options because installing 2015 version is far behind?

I've successfully edited a rdlc in Visual Studio 2022, however, there are some manual steps you have to take.

  1. First open and convert the rdlc when opening in VS2022.
  2. Edit and save the rdlc to local path.
  3. When the rdlc is saved, open it in Notepad++ or a code editor and change the line at the top:
    1. From: <Report xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2016/01/reportdefinition" xmlns:rd="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/reporting/reportdesigner">
    2. To: <Report xmlns:rd="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/reporting/reportdesigner" xmlns:cl="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/componentdefinition" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/reportdefinition">
  4. Comment out the whole <ReportParametersLayout> </ReportParametersLayout> section as it is incompatible.
  5. Save the rdlc and then try running the report in Vault. You still might get the incompatibility version popup, but it seems to still work for me.

That sound as an idea.

I was on the same track to check the differences between the 2015 file save and the 2022 file save.

You helped me a lot to have a more details look of what lines to change and to comment out.

I am going to try this.

Thanks for thinking with me...
