Vault log in button stuck in corner

Hey all,

Anyone know how to get my log in icon in the vault program to leave the right corner of my screen? I noticed about a week ago that it somehow stuck itself to the right side of my screen and no matter how I move my vault screen, the login button stays attached to the right side of my screen. This is making it difficult to exit out of the vault with my screen maximized, as the button covers my minimize, exit, and restore buttons.

I checked with a coworker, and their log in is in the correct location, to the left of all the minimize, exit and restore screen buttons.

Attached I have some screen shots of my graphics and processor. This computer is only a few months old, so I would surly hope that my graphics adapters aren't crapping out already.. All are up to date currently.

As a workaround you can use Alt+space to activate this menu:

Then use N for minimize, X for Maximize, R for restore and C for close. You can also close the application with Alt+F4, or from drop down File menu Exit.
This is also handy for moving dialog boxes that are off-screen. Use M for move and then the arrow keys.

When you click it, all the buttons are active. I have actually even tried logging in/out of my account to see if that would help, but it still sticks itself in that corner.

When clicking to look at the options available, it actually will spill parts of the action box onto my second extended monitor because of how it is nested in the corner. sign in options.PNG

You can try and reset your Windows Vault Profile. Close Vault Explorer. Rename %appdata%\Autodesk\Autodesk Vault Professional 2019 to %appdata%\Autodesk\Autodesk Vault Professional 2019.old and start Vault Explorer again. Then it recreates %appdata%\Autodesk\Autodesk Vault Professional 2019.

If it's ok then you can copy your column settings file gridstate.xml from %appdata%\Autodesk\Autodesk Vault Professional 2019.old\Servers\<servername>\Vaults\<vaultname>\Objects\ to the newly created folder structure.

Are you using dual monitors?  If so, I had the same issue and the only way I could fix it was to make my second monitor my Main Display and then that box jumped back to where it was supposed to be no matter what screen I had it on.

Hopefully that can fix yours as well.

Thanks
Dan

This fixed it for me thanks! Seems to be a multiple monitor issue...

Message 10 of 32

This worked!

Thanks for this fix.

Unfortunately the monitor I like to have set as my main causes the sticking issue, but it shows in the right location when I set my other monitor as my main.

Odd behavior!

In my research this appears to be impacting those who have Win 10 Ver 1809..   Can the user here having the issue confirm that?

Win 10 1809 for me, seeing this problem. Colleague on 1803 and has no issues.

I can confirm this, we have exactly the same issue on 1809.

Message 14 of 32

This is right! I am on version 1809 as of 3-6-19. I had no log in button stick issues a few months ago. I never connected it to a windows update.

My coworker who doesn't have issues with the button sticking is running a version lower than 1803 currently.

Message 15 of 32

Yep, 1809 here as well.

Message 16 of 32

Same here.  I have several users with multi-monitor configurations.  Mostly those that have any monitor id greater than 1 that is set as 'main display'.  We all just recently updated to 1809 (Windows 10 Pro for Workstations), keeping the same install of Vault 2019.1, this update included new bios chipset (Dell-Intel) and graphics drivers (NVIDIA).

This issue has re-appeared for me on Vault 2020.0.1

The above mentioned workaround still applies, however it is disappointing to see a "resolved" issue becoming "unresolved" in a newer release.

Hello,

The fix for this issue is not available with Vault 2020.0.1 update.

Please watch out for the next 2020 update.

Yogeshwar,

Is there an estimated date as to when the vault 2020 update with this fix will be out?

Regards,

Kristin
