Replace asm by older version

What is the easiest way (without renaming/replacing stuff) to use an older version of a subassembly?

I want to use an older version of the pipe with 2*45° bends.

Many Thx

Right-click on that version in the History tab and select Get.

The Vault status inside of the Vault client and Inventor add-in will show you are using an older version but you will be fine.

I think I did that, but no older version displayed. I want the subassembly to be an older version, so I selected the asm in Vault client, went to the history tab, selected the older version and did a get. Switched to inventor and did a refresh, but nothing changed.

Did you have the assembly open in Inventor when you did the Get?

If so, it isn't going to overwrite the version in the workspace.

  1. Close the assembly in Inventor.
  2. Perform the Get in the History tab on the old version.
  3. In the Get menu, select the Force Overwrite option in the drop-down list.
  4. Open the assembly in Inventor

Good point - will try it next time after closing assembly inventor.
