Using Vault 2023.1.1.
Why is there such huge margins (or paddings) in each row in Vault when thumbnails are shown? A third of the available vertical space is eaten by nothingness. 🙂 Can this be controlled somehow? I haven't found any setting related to this.
Some examples with the excessive spacing marked with yellow.
1. Without thumbnails:
2. "medium" thumbnails:
3. "Large" thumbails:

@EdvinTailwind Hi Edvin!
I don't believe there is any control other than the available sizes for the thumbnails. Maybe there needs to be an Idea post on this? What if there was a Word Wrap toggle, similar to Excel, so that text in the columns next to the thumbnails wrapped and filled the empty space? Something like this?

Do you have Automatic column sizing turned on?

I did! (until now, haha...). That did fix the problem, strangely enough. Thanks!
Why does a setting that controls COLUMN sizing make the ROW height/vertical padding change? Also, I see no reason why the thumbnails should have that excessive spacing, in any situation. Does seem like an undesired behavior to me.
Should I post a change request on the Idea board?

Did you intend to post an example/screenshot here? 🙂
This is most likely due to the scaling that takes place when the Thumbnail is shown in the grid.
Even when you don't have "Automatic Column sizing" turned on, if you make the thumbnail column large enough, the spacing goes away. The grid does not have any controls to allow you to size the rows.
This image is with that setting turned off.
