Create DXF: Template Path & Config File

We just upgraded to VP 2025.  We are looking to use the DXF function, yet when we try to generate a DFX of the IDW, this is the message that appears.  Any guidance to get past this and generate the DXF would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Couple of questions.

1. What is exact update/build you are using for Vault Server and Vault Client?
2. Did you configured what INI file will be used for DXF creation or left it for Inventor to decide?

3. If Inventor decides, the only place that I am aware with default config file is C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 20XX\Design Data\DWG-DXF\

Worth to check:
- If location exists with expected content
- Review INI files and see if they have any references to other paths (and if those paths/files are present on machine)

We are running:

jimm_motyka_777_0-1748529738029.png

The server version is 2025.

The main difference I found is that we were configured to run the Design Data through Vault and not from the C: drive.

Although the dates were different, the INI files matched in the DWG-DXF folders (Vault and locally).

I did select the exportdxf.ini for the configuration.  This is now the result I'm  getting.

One question: Are we missing anything in the ADMS to be toggled on?  We can generate the DXFs of the DWGs, but not the IDWs.

There is no separate DXF settings you would need to enable on ADMS Console - all settings are on Vault Client side.

I quickly tried running DXF creation for IDW on my test 2025 machine and it worked (my job processor machine has Inventor installed on it so all default INI and XML files are present under C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2025\Design Data\DWG-DXF\). I tried "Use Settings from Inventor drawing file" enabled and then with specifying INI file on newly created IDW - both worked fine.

Original message was probably due to the missing paths\problem with accessing them on job processor machine. When I check default exportdxf.ini under C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2025\Design Data\DWG-DXF\ it points to the two other files with relative paths - FlatPattern.xml and invANSI.lin

I see those relative paths are then converted into :

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2025\Design Data\DWG-DXF\FlatPattern.xml
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2025\Compatibility\Support\InvANSI.lin

Two situations I saw in past about "Failed to export the file. Please check the template path in config file..." message were about:
- missing default paths and INI, XML, LIN etc. (installing Inventor on that machine created  these)
- INI file that was pointing to custom locations for XML file (and that custom location was missing on job processor machine).

New issue ("It looks like an error occurred...") is very generic one - I would personally suggest submitting support case for investigation.
