Hello everybody,

I'm JM CAD mentor of the FRC team 5553. We start to use Vault and we have some issue.

First, i want to say thank you to the autodesk community for the help.

So, we have a strange problem.

We install Vault Basic on a specific windows server, we define  a vault ipj , some folders, etc...

and, when we make several check out/check in with the same file, sometime this file is copied into the local default design data folder and  not into the worspace folder mapped with the vault tree .

I don't understand why.

I'm sure i make something wrong but i don't know what.

thank you for your help.

JM

Perhaps your user was using the wrong Inventor project file, or tried to Get a bundle of files where some were inacessible/invisible to them?

Hello,

A video will help. Otherwise user might have downloaded the files to design data folder by mistake too.

Thanks for your answers.

I checked, everybody used the same project file ( stored in Vault ) and for all of us the working Folder is the same...

Just a silly question, but all the files ou get from Vault are supposed to be download into the working folder setup up in Autodesk Vault Basic ? ( File > Set Working Folder ... )

Otherwise, the problem i described earlier stills here but i have some more details:

We have an assembly and 1 part stored into the Vault.

Assembly-tst.iam

axe.ipt

A/ i  i get those files with the "get" functionnality and check them out. The files went to my local folder ( the good one ) and i open them with file/open as usual. It worked fine. I checked them all in.

B/From Inventor i use "Vault > Open" to select a file from Vault and open it.

I choose the assembly and i get a message: "File Not checked out . Do you want to check them out ? ..." ( which is normal, the file was not checked out )

i select Yes and i get an empty dialog box without the possibility to select and click OK.

... So impossible to open the file from Vault :(.

It's not the same problem as previous but maybe the 2 problems are connected ?

Regards.
