Changing State of Parents leaves the kids behind.

Quick (I hope) question.....just notified when users select a drawing to change states in our lifecycle, the drawing (parent) is NOT selecting the children (parts/assy) along with it, thus drawings are being advanced thru the lifecycle, but their components are not. This causes a lot of issues when releases happen.

Now, on the flip side of that, if a user changes the state of a child (component), it'll automatically select the drawing (parent). This is basically the complete opposite of how it "should" work.

For the life of me, I cannot find where this setting(s) resides other than in the Change State dialogue box for each individual file. I need to set this to a default setting globally. But where?

Cheers,

Jim O'Flaherty

Regardless of the files selected when clicking Change State, the options are all the same. You need to configure the setting appropriately.

"Include related documentation" will pull the drawings.

"Include dependents" will include all children (parts and subassemblies).

"Include parents" will also pull the parent drawings and other parent files (IPN, IAM)
