Can't get out of dialog boxes, Vault Basic 2025.2.1

Hi all,

Commands like Attachments... Rename... Purge... left me stuck in their dialog boxes, so I couldn't get out of it, except to terminate the process with Task manager. This happens most of the time, or occasionally.

Not sure what's causing this issue.

Thanks!

Hello @XYZ965 ,

Please try this to see if that helps :

Maybe it is because I'm using Vault basic, and not VaultPro?

Finally, I found a way to do what is suggested in the Help:

XYZ965_0-1741250581573.png

But unfortunately, it has not solved my problem.

For example, when I choose the Attachment command to detach an attachment from my .ipt file, after that I can't get out of the dialog box, except to terminate the process with Task manager.

Regards.

Hello @XYZ965 ,

Reset dialog location and client profile - would work for Vault basic too as you have tried above.

I tried the attach-detach workflow you said but I don't see issue. So if this above workaround is not helping - I suggest please raise a case.

Hi @gandhey

Please can you tell me if this is normal behavior for Vault: when I just select a file that has an attachment, the CPU usage gets high, and power usage is very high.

In contrast, when the selected file doesn't have an attachment, the CPU usage is low, and power usage is also low.

Hello @XYZ965 ,

No I do not see the power issue you are seeing.

Does this happen with all files that have attachment OR only specific file ? what type of attachment (extension/size) is attached to this file ?

Also does the power usage remain high on selection of this file? (or if you wait for few seconds or such it comes down?)

Hi @gandhey,

It happens with all files that have an attachment.

Types of attachments are .jpg or .doc, with a size of approximately 200 - 500 KB. The location of attachments is either in the library or with other engineering files.

Power usage remains high on selection, as long as it is selected. So I don't know if it is unusual?

Regards.

Hi @gandhey,

Thank you for answering.

No, rebooting does not help either. I've been dealing with this problem for several weeks, and I've also raised a case, as you suggested. I'll post in this thread how it ends.

Regards.

The problem was solved by Autodesk support. It was enough to uninstall - reinstall Vault client and now everything works fine.

Thank you, customer support Tim of Autodesk.

Best regards.
