Vault Addin Auto Update

Hi all,

I was wondering if there is a "best way" to auto update Vault addins.

We have 2 addins:

-DataStandard > containing Ps1, xaml, and xml files

-Our custom addin > It's an IExplorerExtension. Contains a dll and some other filetypes.

They are both Vaulted.

I wish that if I change something within a ps1, xml, xaml or dll, then people could get the latest version of the file.

I was thinking on grabbing files using any of these:

OnLogOff

OnLogOn

OnShutdown

OnStartup

And I was wondering if any of you have tried or faced any issue (maybe the files can not be overwritten once Vault has started)

Thanks!

Hi @jose_oltra: you can review and leverage the code base of Thunderdome-Sample. It includes Data Standard distribution as a default; your other additions could be included using the tool's folder deployment option. As soon as a component of your deployment is loaded in Vault or another client, the replacement will require shutting down and restarting these. Thunderdome-Sample implemented shutdown/restart for the Vault Explorer only. Access the Thunderdome by reading the latest information here: Thunderdome is still alive, but... - It's All Just Ones and Zeros (typepad.com)

@Markus.Koechl "Thunderdome-Sample implemented shutdown/restart", no mistake?
I believe it asks user to do this manually:

I wonder whether Vault API contains any Vault Explorer shutdown smarter than emulate "Alt + F4" system hotkey?
