I don't know for sure what you are talking about. Is this true, users can't delete items without calling on Upchain support? I couldn't find anything about deletion in the help files.
I know what your talking about, you cant rename anything either, unless it can be checked out in cad plugin. the ability to rename and delete items and even directories ( basic data management) is a general job function of every PDM admin.. but not here? havnt found a way to roll back a revision either... be very careful what you click on, everything is immutable
in regard to your Upchain idea request, could you please elaborate in which cases or under which condition you would like to delete an item or a project and what kind of a problem you are experiencing today where you need to submit a support ticket?
@andreja.schneider with Upchain you cannot delete an item or project without submitting a support ticket. You can remove items from there location but they still exist in Upchain. I submitted a support ticket to delete some items and some projects about 2 weeks ago and I am still waiting for the projects to be deleted.
I'm amazed by this limitation. For a system that is all about dealing with change, I've seen a number of areas where Upchain takes a surprisingly rigid approach. In some cases it might be about avoiding complexity. In the case of deletion, it seems completely unnecessary to grab this choice away from tenant admins.
Heard that AutoDesk Product Managers monitor these chats and if we voice our displeasure, there is a likelihood that they will work towards addressing this. I personally think it is a terrible decision to not allow us to delete a Project. We have our reasons for wanting to delete - including mistakes made while we are learning and switching to the Production Tenant. Hoping for a favorable response from Autodesk. We are not comfortable explaining to AutoDesk why a certain Project needs to be deleted or make a case for it when we seek help.
