Linked Documents (Fix Broken Feature)

Linked Documents (Fix Broken Feature)

For more background, please see my forum post on this issue:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/upchain-forum/no-way-to-globally-attach-linked-documents-to-parts/td-...

It appears that Upchain currently does not support adding Documents that exist outside of a project to BOM Items within that project. I am able to Link these documents to the project by using the "Share" feature, which then makes the document available to the project... however I cannot go a step further by adding these Linked documents to BOM items.

A Global scope for documents is crucial for my PLM usage. Being able to reference documents globally prevents duplicates and confusion.

Hello,

As of June 9th the issue is still persisting. Is there any plan to fix this soon? I feel like this is a relatively simple feature to implement and would be very beneficial to users. I have not used Upchain since I discovered this issue back in March and would like a resolution.

Thank you!

Hi ,

Is there any update or plan to address this? This has come up in our use case multiple times as well. Being able to link documents globally would be very useful. At the very least documents shared across sub-projects from a parent project would also work.
