Custom Attribute for Projects

Idea.

Tenant admins should be able to add Custom attributes to Projects. 

the logic should follow the same behaviour as Item attributes or Document attributes.

the Custom attributes must be.

• Editable by the tenant Admins.
• Searchable
• have different Data Typs.
• can be Project type specific or general for all projects.
• the connection to Project type must except multiple values.
• can be used in workflows as control primitives.
• are exposed to the API.
• values can be controlled by a Picklist.

Use Case. 

better handling of different Projects.  more search criteria leading to better results. 

better control of Projects through Workflow primitives

There is already the ability to create custom attributes for items but it is a tenant wide attribute.  It is already searchable too. Navigate to Upchain admin -> Item Attributes -> Custom Attributes to add or test.

this idea is for a custom Attribute for Projects.

Custom Attributes for items is already implemented in our organisation.

You can always make an item to house these attributes.  We use product structure items all the time for documents and other random things.  This allows us more control and visibility than just a regular document. Feel like this could be a temporary solution.

thank you for the suggestion.

we would like to have a correct solution and go way from all the workaround that we or the users have built in to the system.

in our opinion the correct solution would be to add custom attributes to Projects as suggested in this idea.
