We are working in solidworks.
The PDF available befor release is generated by solidworks. When relaesed the PDF is generated from the DWG file. This makes it imposible to reveiw befor we release items.
Here are some exampels where the PDF (from SW) was approved in review, and when realased the PDF (from DWG) is not accepted.
How do we change such that we can reveiw the PDF´s befor relaese?
Hi @lho1 thank you for your question. Yes, you are correct that the released PDF can be different to the working PDF because the released PDF is generated from the DWG file. This is something they are looking to change, but won't happen any time soon. Here are a couple support articles on specific things to watch out for: logo transparency and image colors.
I have a couple follow-up questions:
Thanks.
Hi @emily.caulfield, thanks for the answer.
yes, we are currently using item dawing codes on the drawing for all revision driven infoamtion.
Yes, we use solidworks properties on the drawing header.
Do you have a time estimation on when it would be possible to review the drawings that are going to get relaesed?
This issue also contain text notes, where some text font get changed and move around. See example
@lho1 I understand your frustration. You're not the only one with these issues. For now, your only option is to have the tenant properties: drawing.create.dwg, drawing.create.pdf, and drawing.populate.title.block.codes enabled to ensure the codes are converted to their correct values and use the two support articles I linked to ensure things like transparency and colors aren't lost during release. Unfortunately, I don't have a timeline on when this will change. For now, have a look through the Upchain Ideas Board and add this suggestion to help it gain traction.
